Third Place Wine® events
Third Place Wine® Flight Club is where we follow our curiosity together through wine-themed meet ups which evolve over time and according to demand.
In 2025, we’re taking the inaugural Field Trip to Bordeaux!
If Flight Club is for the curious, then Field Trips are for the nerds.

🗺️ 20 - 23 March 2025
📍 Bordeaux
This will be the inaugural (AKA trial) Field Trip, curated for an intimate, pioneer cohort who in turn will help to shape potential future Field Trips.
We will focus on Bordeaux’s past and future by:
🗺️ Learning about the historical context and significance of the region, and implications they carry for the future;
🗺️ Visiting and tasting at iconic, benchmark châteaux;
🗺️ Meeting visionary winemakers who represent the best of the future of Bordeaux;
🗺️ Discovering the city;
🗺️ Eating and drinking well (naturally!).
After the long weekend, Field Trippers will walk away with a deeper understanding of the region, new friends and deeper connections, and life-long memories from this special, shared experience.
To register: Registration is complete. To join the waiting list, please email [email protected].

Pinot Noir from Around the World
In this edition of Flight Club, a Flight Club Cru (FCC) member will host the Cru at his residence, where we will go beyond Burgundy to taste Pinot Noir from around the world.
✈️ We'll taste 10 bottles across 6 countries and 9 regions with both warm and cool climates represented.
✈️ As a bonus, one Cru member will blind us on a Pinot Noir--try to guess where it's from! I will also bring a (twelfth) bottle to blind.
Snacks will be served.

Rosé Champagne
If you’re in Luxembourg on 8 August and looking for a fancy afterwork on the Flûte Alors! terrace to drown your tears in grower Champagne because you’re not at the beach or on a boat (WOMP!), then… Flight Club has got you covered.
In this intimate edition of Flight Club, the Cru will:
✈️ Taste 4 rosé Champagnes selected to illustrate different grapes, terroirs and winemaking methods;
✈️ Test our Champagne knowledge with some trivia;
✈️ One winner will take home a magnum of Vilmart’s “Grande Réserve”!
Snacks will be served.

Burgundy - Villages
Burgundy produces some of the finest and most expensive wines in the world, but you don't have to break the bank to find good quality.
In this edition of Flight Club, developed as a casual afterwork, we'll double blind taste 6 bottles from 6 different villages of Burgundy (among which one is a Premier Cru).
We'll taste 3 red and 3 white wines and survey the group to answer the following questions:
✈️ How much do you think each wine cost?
✈️ How much would you pay for each wine?
✈️ Which one is the Premier Cru?
Then, we will reveal the bottles!
Snacks will be served. Per usual, feel free to bring your own bottle(s) you wish to share after!

Israeli White Wines
A fund-raising meet-up based around four bottles of Israeli white wines sourced from a recent trip to Tel Aviv. Israeli food will be served.
The terrorist attack of 7 October 2023 calls upon everyone of every nation and creed to stand up against hatred. 100% of funds raised from this edition of Flight Club will be donated to non-profit efforts on the ground. Participants will direct their donations and receive receipts for their record.

Non-vintage Champagne
Non-vintage (or “NV”) Champagnes are the entry point to a house’s offering, and are meant to represent its trademark style. They are also the most commonly available and price-accessible bottles that you can find, ones that you would likely buy for yourself or bring to a social gathering.
During this afternoon event, we will double-blind taste across 9 non-vintage Champagnes + 1 non-Champagne sparkling wine.
Get ready to discover!
✈️ Which wine is the odd one out (i.e. NOT the Champagne)
✈️ Which champagne you REALLY like, unbiased by labels (download the score sheet — a hard copy will also be available)
We’ll then reveal the true identities of the wines!
Snacks will be served.

German Pinot Noir
For the inaugural Flight Club, we will taste German pinot noir!
Inspired by a Third Placer who hasn’t come across a German Pinot Noir he’s liked, we’ll see if we can’t change his mind. We will cover 4 different bottles from the Baden, Rheingau and Ahr wine regions.
Snacks will be served.
